PSN-YPG NATIONAL REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2023

Happy New Month to you.  I welcome you into the month of June 2023 and I pray that the month will be filled with blessings.

REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2023

  • 2 DAYS OF CLINICAL SKILLS AND SOFT SKILL TRAINING (COMMUNICATION, STORYTELLING, AND PRESENTATION SKILL TRAINING) BY PHARMASYMBIOSIS

In a bid to hone our clinical skills, we held clinical training on the role of Benfotiamine in the prevention and management of diabetic complications. Pharm. Dr. Joanne Muoh was the speaker for the session.

The session was followed by a product presentation on Renerve plus- BT by Pharm. Sefunmi Oladapo.

The second day of the training was the soft skill training on Communication, Storytelling, and Presentation skills. The trainer was Pharm Anthony Nwabuebo, a seasoned trainer on communication, story-telling, and presentation skills.

The soft skill trainees were certified and all who haven’t gotten their certificate should do well to contact me (National Secretary) on 07062851968 for their certificate.

  • UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON COURSES

During the month in review, two University of Washington courses namely, Leadership and Management in Health and Fundamentals of Global Health Research were still being coordinated and a total of 60 and 40 Young Pharmacists respectively are currently participating in the courses.

Furthermore, we were able to secure another space for another University of Washington course “Project Management in Global Health” and the course will be starting this month.

  • 4TH ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE

During the month in review, the call for abstracts was concluded, and planning for the 4th Annual National Conference has been greatly intensified. Registration for the conference has seen a significant increase in participant registration. Registration is still ongoing and we urge all Young Pharmacists to register and attend.

  • NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING

During the month in review, a National Executive Council meeting was held and the highlight of the meeting was on ensuring good participation at the conference. To this effect, any pharmacist whose place of work requires a personalized invitation letter for permission to be granted, should not hesitate to contact me (National Secretary) for it.

  • UPCOMING EVENTS

4TH ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE: Annual National Conference holds 4th July – 8th July 2023. Features include training and certification, games, networking, Dinner, cultural nights, Town Hall meeting, Health outreach, tech fest in collaboration with Pit Africa, and lots more.

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON COURSES: Application for Policy Development and Advocacy for Global Health and a second batch of Leadership and Management in Health.
